
RECRUITMENT
As an advisor, you'll need to recruit students within your school to support the efforts and curriculum. To help, we've compiled a list of best practices to consider.
Recruit 15-20 students who...
- Are emerging leaders within your school
- Think outside of the box and demonstrate curiosity
- Take initiative and are able to move outside of their comfort zone
- Demonstrate resilience
- Represent the diversity of your school
- Are available to commit to and participate in weekly meetings
Staff Nominations
- Educate your school’s staff on REDgen using the REDgen Video
- Share REDgen School's mission and vision Request staff to nominate 2 students who demonstrate the qualities above
- Ask nominated students to join as REDgen Student Leaders
Direct Recruitment
- Present the opportunity to participate during assemblies
- Enter classrooms (psychology, health, phy. ed, etc.) and educate around the mission and vision of REDgen
- Use results from College and Career Readiness Surveys to invite individual students
Self Selection
- Present a REDgen booth at your school's clubs fair
- Have current REDgen Leaders invite a friend to join
- Students can directly request and self-select that they would like to be a REDgen Student Leader

Elect/assign your Executive Board
Once you've successfully recruited REDgen student members, you'll need to elect four board members.
PRESIDENT
- Leads weekly meetings alongside the REDgen Advisor
- Determines the agenda for Executive Board meetings
- Represents REDgen to school administration for REDgen initiatives
VICE PRESIDENT
- Shares meeting leadership with the President
- Records member attendance
- Succeeds the President in the following school year (CANNOT be a senior)
OUTREACH DIRECTOR
- Maintains an Instagram account to reach the student body posting topical content, events, etc.
- Distributes monthly flyers
- Creates marketing materials for meetings & events
EVENTS DIRECTOR
- Assigns responsibilities for facilitating initiatives and events ensuring success
- Determines event timelines
- Schedules weekly Executive Board meetings
